Our trip to the States for Christmas was pretty uneventful with no delays or problems at all. We had some long layovers in Amsterdam though. I was pleasantly surprised though when I discovered that the Schipol airport has a library! It's just a little area, but has computers and books for people to use and then leave in the airport. We definitely had to get a picture by this!

Top Secret Projects
I have just finished a top secret project that I've been working on for the last week and was reminded that I could post pictures from a previously top secret project that has now been given to the person it was made for. My grandma had made a baby blanket for my cousin's youngest daughter and needed some help finishing it. It made it's way to Brian's co-worker in Detroit who brought it along to Germany when he came last fall. I finished it and was able to bring it back to Michigan at Christmas for my aunt and uncle to bring it to North Carolina to my cousin. It has taken quite a journey!
It was a simple baby blanket made with solid yellow yarn and variegated baby yarn. It was the pattern that most people use to make washcloths, but only made with larger needles on a much larger scale. It was fun to help finish the blanket.
Stay tuned for pictures of my latest top secret project once it has been delivered to it's recipient! I also should have more time to update the blog now that I am done working non-stop on that project. We've taken a few short trips recently and I want to share the pictures that we took of those things, but a few random pictures from other things we've done recently.

Feenstra Christmas 2010
Sorry about the delay between posts lately...I've been working hard on a project that I need to get finished soon and haven't had a lot of time for the blog. I'm hoping the project will be done tomorrow, so I should have a bit more time for this. :)
Our last Christmas party of the year was with the Feenstra side (Brian's mom's side). We had the party in Brian's Uncle Tom's pole barn. Uncle Tom got all the kids a gift and I think it is pretty exciting for everyone to have a boy in the family. The girls all got stuffed teddy bears and Trent got a toy aircraft carrier. He LOVED it! Brian had to go check it out with him and eventually Erika had to check it out too. Here's some pictures of them enjoying it.

Ponstein Christmas 2010
The Monday after Christmas, we had the Ponstein family Christmas party. It was fun to see our nieces and nephew again after 5 months and see how they've grown and changed. We had so much fun watching them open their presents, that I didn't even take any pictures of the adults opening presents! We must be boring! We do a gift exchange with the Ponsteins and Brian ended up with some bike tools (you'll have to ask him what they were) and I got a gift card to Eddie Bauer. :)
Here's Grandpa Ponstein and Ashleigh.
Here's Karissa before the gifts started.
Here's Trent peeking through at us.
The girls had so much energy! I'm not sure what they were doing here, but it was probably loud with lots of movement!
Karissa got to open the first gift since she was the youngest there.
There was always a lot of helping when it came to opening the gifts.
Trent got a tractor with a hay wagon. Grandpa is so excited to have a boy to buy tractors for!
Aleah got a Rainbow Brite doll with a horse.
The horse was named Sammy for a while and then switched to Star.
Ashleigh got some new craft stuff.
Erika got Jessie and Bullseye from Toy Story.
Kristin made all the girls capes to wear around the house. They were so cute!
And one last one of all the kids opening their stockings.
