The Bultmans and Gunninks (Part 2)

On Friday, we spent the morning killing a bit of time before it was time to go to the airport to pick up Justin and Shawnna.  We only had to go to Memmingento pick them up, which is about an hour away from where we live.  We decided we would check out Lindau in the morning which is one of my favorite towns around here.  It is an island city with some neat things in it.  Kyle got some great pictures of the decorations for Fasnacht.

We mostly just wandered through the town before we got cold and decided we should get something warm to drink and perhaps something sweet to eat.  We ended up in the bakery at the train station and got chocolate berliners (which are filled with chocolate and not jelly!) and hot chocolate.  The berliners were even decorated for Fasnacht!

From Lindau, we headed to a store to pick up 3 pairs of snowshoes that we would need for the next day.  I had to drive on the scariest road I've ever driven on in Germany.  It was only one lane, very curvy, and the speed limit was much too high!  Thankfully, we found the place and didn't get in any accidents on the way!

After getting the snowshoes, we headed to Memmingen to pick up Justin and Shawnna and they were very excited to actually have people picking them up from the airport!  I taught Kyle how to say, "Wilkommen in Deutschland!" to welcome them.

We had a pretty uneventful evening since everyone was tired and we wanted to be ready to go in the morning.  Justin and Kyle did go out at night and take some pictures.  Here is one of my favorites that Kyle got of Friedrichshafen at night.
